Vesna Štefančić Martić is the Chair of the Committee for Public Health Activities and a member of the Executive Board of the Croatian Medical Chamber. Since 2014, she has been working at the Croatian Institute of Public Health in the Department of Public Health.
She is a member of the European Public Health Alliance (EPHA), a board member and treasurer of the Croatian Society for Public Health, as well as a co-founder of the Section of Public Health Residents of the Croatian Public Health Association (Euronet MRPH Croatia), and the lead advocate for joining the European Network of Public Health Residents (Euronet MRPH).
She graduated from the University of Zagreb School of Medicine in 2011. She began her residency in public health medicine at the Croatian Institute of Public Health, passed the specialist exam, and defended her final specialist thesis in public health medicine. She also completed a postgraduate specialist program in Public Health Medicine at the University of Zagreb School of Medicine, earning the title Master in Public Health.
She has published more than 30 professional and scientific papers, participates in public health projects, and continuously works on the advancement and development of public health medicine. She has advocated for the rights and improved status of young Croatian doctors at the assemblies of the European Junior Doctors Association (EJD), and was later elected as a member of the EJD Executive Board for the 2018/2019 term.
