Romana Jerković Kraljić is a Croatian medical doctor, politician and Member of the European Parliament (MEP) since 2020, representing the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats (S&D). She holds a PhD in biomedical sciences from the University of Padua and is a university professor at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Rijeka. Jerković Kraljić has an extensive career in public service, including her role as Deputy Mayor of Rijeka and three terms as a Member of the Croatian Parliament, where she focused on health, social affairs and gender equality.
As an MEP, she serves as Vice-Chair of the Committee on Public Health (SANT). Her work revolves around tackling health inequalities, strengthening cardiovascular health and prevention policies, supporting cancer prevention efforts, and advocating for resilient and accessible healthcare systems across the European Union.
