Healthcare was the top concern for Croatian citizens before the last parliamentary elections. They rated it poorly at 2.7, citing long waiting lists and slow adaptation to technology. Additionally, citizens have unhealthy lifestyle habits and shorter lifespans compared to other EU countries, ranking second to last in cancer mortality rates.

We are facing major health challenges, such as high cancer rates and a shorter average lifespan. This was the focus of a debate on April 9, 2024, highlighting the urgent need to improve the Croatian healthcare system.

There are fewer and fewer Croatian citizens, we are getting older and have a short life expectancy compared to other EU countries. At the same time, there are never greater opportunities for life in front of us due to increasingly advanced technological and scientific achievements.

For 56 percent of citizens, it is important to urgently resolve waiting lists, while 78 percent believe that the availability of new drugs is questionable.

On June 6th and 7th, as part of the second edition of the HealthComm Forum, leading global and European figures will discuss restoring trust and establishing a new social contract in healthcare.

On the second day of the HealthComm Forum, discussions revolved around the democratization of medicine, the latest healthcare technologies, and the future of patient data collection and utilization.

The goal of the two-day conference, among other things, was to discuss citizens’ trust in healthcare.

At the first regional conference that connects communications and health, open discussions will be launched on opportunities and solutions that can result in restoring citizens’ trust in health institutions and industry.
