Building the “New Face of Health” requires concrete steps towards a more modern and sustainable healthcare system, with trust as the foundation of it all.

In a conversation with Mario Gazić, president of the Croatian Chamber of Nurses (HKMS), we discussed the importance of the HealthComm Forum in the context of improving the healthcare system and the role of nurses in promoting health and disease prevention. Given the growing challenges in the healthcare sector, the HealthComm Forum serves as a key platform for exchanging ideas and fostering collaboration among various sectors. Mario Gazić shared his perspective on how our Forum can contribute to building a modern and better healthcare system.

The HealthComm Forum, as a unique regional public discussion on the future of health, plays a crucial role in shaping the healthcare system in several ways. First and foremost, it is important to connect key stakeholders, as the Forum brings together experts from healthcare, communications, technology, and business, enabling the exchange of knowledge and experiences and promoting collaboration across sectors. Furthermore, through presentations and discussions, the Forum highlights innovative approaches and best practices that can improve the healthcare system and adapt it to modern challenges. The Forum also emphasizes the importance of strategic communication as a key element in restoring trust and ensuring the efficient functioning of the healthcare system. Through these activities, the HealthComm Forum actively contributes to shaping a modern, functional, and sustainable healthcare system that is patient-centered.

The Croatian Chamber of Nurses (HKMS) can significantly contribute to the development of a healthcare system focused on prevention and health promotion in several ways. By organizing continuous education and professional development programs, HKMS ensures that nurses are equipped to implement preventive measures and promote health in the community. Through active participation in national health promotion and disease prevention programs, nurses educate and inform citizens about healthy lifestyles, thereby reducing the incidence of disease. Furthermore, by collaborating with other healthcare and educational institutions, HKMS participates in creating integrated programs that promote health and disease prevention.

By highlighting the importance of nurses in health promotion, HKMS can encourage greater investment in preventive programs and shift the focus of the healthcare system from treating illness to preserving health. Through these activities, HKMS can assist in transforming the healthcare system into one that prioritizes prevention and health promotion.
