Ivan Kruljac graduated from the University of Zagreb School of Medicine in 2010 and earned his PhD from the same institution in 2016. His doctoral research was the first in the world to answer the clinical question: “Is ketosis in patients with type 2 diabetes a positive or negative prognostic indicator?” He gained his clinical experience at the Department of Endocrinology, Diabetes and

Metabolic Diseases “Mladen Sekso” at the Sestre milosrdnice University Hospital Center in Zagreb, where he served as a ward physician and head of the Neuroendocrine Tumor Board. His scientific work includes approximately 60 articles published in international peer-reviewed journals, including prestigious publications such as The New England Journal of Medicine and The American Journal of Medicine. He was a co-founder and executive editor of the scientific journal Endocrine Oncology and Metabolism, which during his tenure was indexed in internationally recognized databases such as DOAJ, EMBASE, and SCOPUS, as well as registered with ICMJE and COPE.

From 2019 to 2020, he served as Secretary of the Croatian Society of Endocrinology and as the Croatian representative to the European Society of Endocrinology. In 2024, he was appointed Assistant Professor at the School of Medicine of the Catholic University of Croatia.

Ivan Kruljac is the co-founder and Director of Solmed Polyclinic, a company specializing in conducting clinical trials. He has participated in and served as the principal investigator in eight international clinical trials, which have provided study drug therapy for more than 300 patients. He is also the founder of the Metabolic Friendly platform, the first medical center dedicated to metabolism. He remains actively involved in patient care, focusing on insulin resistance, and serves as the head of the Metabolic Friendly Board.
