Prim. MSC Dorijan Marušič, MD, BSc, Specialist in Internal Medicine, is a senior healthcare expert with over 25 years of leadership experience in Slovenia’s health system, including roles as Minister of Health of Slovenia, State Secretary, Advisor to the Director General of the Health Insurance Institute of Slovenia and Medical Director of Izola General Hospital.
Internationally, he has contributed as a member of the European Commission’s expert panel on effective ways of investing in health (DG SANCO). He holds a master’s degree on measuring healthcare outcomes. His work spans numerous national and international projects in healthcare systems, insurance, payment models, quality improvement, data standardization, and health informatics. He is widely published and cited, and currently lectures at the Faculty of Health Sciences.
